FACILITY RX

Vivian Holder realized a lifelong dream of business ownership when she established Facility RX in March 2010. Having spent more than 25 years in the commercial furniture and facilities services industry, Holder decided that the San Antonio market was mature enough for an innovative, integrated facility services company.

Facility RX provides turnkey relocations, procurement services, integrated IT services, integrated A&D services, project management services, and warehousing. Facility RX is founded on principles of sustainability and was honored for this commitment with the San Antonio Business Journal’s “Going Green” 2012 Entrepreneurial Venture of the Year.

Holder first approached the UTSA Institute for Economic Development to attend sustainable business seminars. Through the company’s work with the Institute, Facility RX has utilized the services of many different programs.

Our needs have gradually become more complex and due to the efforts of the UTSA PTAC, we have not missed a beat.  It is almost like they are intuitive in knowing what we need as we grow

In particular, the UTSA Procurement Technical Assistance Center’s Employer Services Program staff, Holder and the Facility RX team worked to develop effective and compliant HR policies and procedures to meet the needs of the growing company.

Holder said that the assistance with employment policies, manuals, job descriptions, and compensation information gave the company a level of preparedness that typically comes with years of experience. UTSA PTAC staff provided assistance extending from human resources to personal and professional development for the company’s leadership team. Today, the Facility RX team regularly recommends the services of the UTSA PTAC to other business owners seeking assistance in starting or growing their business.
